Kourabiedes, along with melomakarona, are an exquisite delicacy and the quintessential Christmas biscuits in Greece. Nowadays, however, you can find them in sweet shops throughout the year.
Traditionally made with clarified goat’s and sheep’s milk butter, my version of kourabiedes is based on 100% butter ghee, which gives them a lighter taste profile.
I created this variation of the traditional recipe for the chocoholics among us, who also love a good espresso shot. With roasted hazelnuts, Dutch cocoa, luscious Belgian chocolate and spiced rum, and topped with a chocolate-coffee sphere, you will find yourself indulging in these treats a little too often.
All biscuits are handmade and weighed to the decigram, to ensure uniform baking and shape. Available all year-round.
