Kourabiedes, along with melomakarona, are a sweet delight and the quintessential Christmas biscuits in Greece. Nowadays, however, you can find them in pastry shops throughout the year.
Traditionally made with clarified goat’s and sheep’s milk butter, my version of kourabiedes is based on 100% butter ghee, which gives them a lighter taste profile.
This variation of the traditional recipe carries a Mediterranean flair and is a perfect accompaniment to your tea or coffee. With roasted pistachios from Greece, and flavoured with orange blossom water and a hint of cardamom, be prepared to have your taste buds thanking you with each bite you take.
All biscuits are handmade and weighed to the decigram, to ensure uniform baking and shape. Available from November to March.
