Spanakópita needs no introduction. It is the most famous Greek pie made with delicately crisp filo and a positively green filling. If you are looking for a true taste of Greece, this is it!

At Melíanthos we make spanakopita the traditional way; layered hand-made filo pastry sheets, all around a nutritious filling, in a big round pie.

The phyllo is fermented for at least 16 hours with our trusty sourdough starter, which makes it tastier and more digestible, and is made with a flour blend that contains wholemeal organic flours. It is then rolled out by hand in thin sheets.

The spanakopita filling contains onions, leeks and swiss chards, sautéed slowly in extra virgin olive oil. The tender spinach is lightly wilted and added to the mix off-heat, along with aromatics. In the vegetarian version, the creamy filling is enriched with free-range eggs, feta and a bit of ground pecorino.

When frozen, our pies are delivered packed in a pouch insulated with natural sheep's wool. Ice packs ensure chilled transportation until delivery the next day (Tuesday to Friday).

We are using Woolcool's environmentally friendly food pouches, which not only ensure great transportation of our chilled products to you but also don't harm our planet, as they can be recycled or reused (apart from the cling film enveloping the pie).

Chilled delivery incurs a £5 surcharge per 2 pies due to the special packaging.


The pie weighs 1 kilo before baking and it’s 28 cm/11" wide, which makes for 8 generous portions. Available all-year-round.

Allergens: Wheat, Eggs, Milk. This product is made in a kitchen where various nuts, sesame, soya, dairy, eggs, celery, mustard, fish and crustaceans are handled.
